Leonardo DiCaprio teams up with Netflix for documentary 'Virunga'
Washington: Leonardo DiCaprio and Netflix are coming together for a documentary titled 'Virunga', it has been revealed.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the documentary directed by Orlando von Einsiedel will focus on park rangers and the gorillas they protect.
Netflix chief content officer Ted Sarandos in a statement that DiCaprio intuitively understood that there was nothing like the power of film to reach people's hearts and minds.
The 39-year-old actor said that films like 'Virunga' were powerful stories that were a window into the incredible cultural and natural diversity of their world, the forces that were threatening to destroy it, and the people who were fighting to protect it.
The doc will be release simultaneously on Netflix and in theaters in New York and Los Angeles in November, 2015.
