Hudhud fails to deter Tollywood

Film shooting to resume shortly
Rajahmundry: The cyclonic storm Hudhud fails to deter the Telugu film industry even as it created much havoc in several parts mainly in Visakhapatnam and twin Godavari districts as the film makers are getting ready to take up film production once the restoration works are completed.
Film industry experts say that it is the bounteous beauty of the nature that attracts a large number of film directors like Bapu Ramana and Balachander to shoot several hit films in these areas.
They say that though several popular locations like the beach, fishing harbor, airport, Araku Valley and other areas in Visakhapatnam were affected while the extent of storm-related damage is relatively less in Godavari districts, the shooting of the film will resume after a brief spell of lull.
Movie Artists Association president and Rajahmundry MP M. Murali Mohan said, “As several parts in these districts are blessed with beautiful locations like beaches, hills, valleys, Godavari river, streams, lush green plains and other attractions, no film maker or director can afford to ignore to capture them in their films.
Though the storm affected several locations, it is only a matter of time that they will be restored. Moreover, the entire state machinery is paying attention to restore the infrastructure on a war-footing and we are confident to resume our activities soon.”
With regard to the proposed shifting of Telugu film industry from Hyderabad, located in Telangana State, to Visakhapatnam or any other place in AP, the MAA president said that they require infrastructure like studios and other installations and availability of junior artists locally in order to do so.
He said, “It took nearly 30 years for the Telugu film industry to be shifted to Hyderabad from the erstwhile Madras. We are still dependent upon Bollywood and Kollywood for certain things. Unless we have availability of all requisite, it is not possible to shift. Moreover, Hyderabad part of newly formed Telugu state Telangana and there is no pressure upon us to shift the industry to elsewhere. I don't think the industry may shift in near future to AP.”
