Mysore: Karnataka State Women’s Commission Chairperson, Manjula Manasa has taken up a suo motu case on the attack on IAS officer V. Rashmi Mahesh at the campus of Administrative Training Institute (ATI) during her visit to condole the death of Venkatesh H, when the family members were protesting with the body near the ATI office after the autopsy Wednesday.
She said, she has directed the Mysore city Police Commissioner to speed up the enquiry.
Ms Manjula, denied to comment further saying she is yet to get complaint copies of Ms Rashmi and her driver from Mysore City Police and the report submitted to the Chief Secretary by Ms Rashmi.
She said, “I will study the complaint and report in detail. I will definitely make a fair recommendation irrespective of who is involved. I will submit my report within a week to the government,” she told Deccan Chronicle.
Meanwhile Mysore Chamber of Commerce and Industries and FKCCI has condemned the attack on Ms Rashmi. Referring to reports on the Rs 100 Crore scam at ATI during the tenure of Mrs Amita Prasad (2008-2014), they have demanded a Lokayukta inquiry. They submitted a memorandum in this regard to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah at on Friday.
Speaking to reporters,FKCCI Chairperson Sudhakar S. Shetty, said, the scam reported at ATI is something very deep compared to even mining and land scams. Since Public access to ATI is limited, there is every scope that the scam could get covered, up, he said.
