Srinivas Rao cheated producer Sudhakar Reddy to the tune of Rs 6 lakh

Hyderabad: The Jubilee Hills police has registered a cheating case against Shreyas Media managing director G. Srinivas Rao for allegedly cheating producer Sudhakar Reddy to the tune of Rs 6 lakh.
The accused, Mr Rao, was given the audio rights of Gunde Jaari Gallanthayyinde and had made an oral agreement to make the payment after the distribution and marketing of the sound track. Mr Rao, however, did not pay the money, despite Mr Reddy’s repeated requests.
Though they entered into an informal agreement, Mr Reddy had asked Mr Rao to come up with a legal agreement, but he did not respond to the notices sent. He promised to give the money within two or three months after the audio release. But it was later learnt he had sold the audio rights to company named Lahari in Karnataka by forging the agreement documents.
According to the police, when, Mr Reddy asked him about the money, Mr Rao sent notices stating he had sold the rights for the soundtrack.
“Based on a complaint, a cheating case was registered against Mr Rao and is being investigated. Notices will be sent to him.” said M. Mahender Reddy, sub-inspector, Jubilee Hills. Mr Rao is absconding.
