Criminal Investigation Department: Seer’s interrogation
BENGALURU: It was another hectic day for Raghaveshwara Bharati Swami of the Ramachandrapura Math as Criminal Investigation Department (CID) sleuths grilled him for around five hours on Friday in connection with the sexual harassment case against him.
The seer came to the CID office on Palace Road around noon and was grilled till 5 pm. The team headed by SP Sirigouri, DySPs Simon, Chandrashekhar and Purushotham questioned the seer for nearly five hours.
CID sources said that the seer was questioned about the case in which he allegedly harassed a 47-year-old singer. He was also questioned about the suicide of the victim’s brother-in-law, Shyamprasad Shasthi, as the seer has been accused of abetment to suicide in that case.
Sources said that the seer has been told to appear before the interrogators on Saturday. “This was the third time we questioned the seer. He was interrogated even on Tuesday and Thursday.
It is likely that his questioning would end on Saturday as we have completed almost 80 per cent of the questioning on all the charges he is facing,” the source added.
The CID sleuths have already visited the Math in Girinagar and have gathered information. They will visit other places soon, souces said.
