A large number of candidates submitted fake certificates of B.Ed

Kadapa: The vigilance wing officials in the education department on Thursday conducted a raid on district education office at Kadapa pertaining to fake certificates submitted by the teachers to get promotions in the district.

A large number of candidates submitted fake certificates of B.Ed and other related courses from the other states got jobs in 2009 and also during previous recruitments.

The issue has been with the department and initiating action against those teachers who submitted fake certificates.

On Thursday, as part of it, the vigilance team led by the official Kalavathi of education department from Tirupati conducted searches at DEO office in Kadapa.

The team had verified the recruitment and promotion files along with all documents of candidates submitted at the time of recruitment.

Sources said, T. Prakash, a teacher from upper primary school in Gopavaram village in Badvel mandal and T. Muneiah, a school assistant at Badvel high school, were reportedly submitted fake certificate with the District Education office for their promotions in the district.

The vigilance team has been verifying all the records connecting to B.Ed and certificates obtained from other states though they had no eligibility in the Andhra Pradesh. Sources said, there have been several cases as candidates submitted fake certificates and got posting and promotions since recruitments are mainly at Kadapa and several other parts of the region. The vigilance department had concentrated on weeding out of fake certificates.
