Donations log up to Rs 30 crore to build Andhra Pradesh's new capital

An estimate cost of Rs 1 lakh-crore will be required to build the capital
Hyderabad: Donations for the construction of the new capital of Andhra Pradesh are gradually pouring in. The Andhra Pradesh government has received nearly Rs 30 crore in the form of cash, cheques, demand drafts and gold ornaments from individual citizens, professionals, families, institutions and companies in the last four months.
Though Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has called upon people on several occasions to contribute at least a brick and supplement the efforts of the government in constructing a world-class capital, the total donations in four months are only about Rs 30 crore.
When compared to the Rs 1 lakh-crore projected requirement to build the capital, Rs 30 crore is quite meager, only 0.0003 per cent of the estimated cost.
