108 staff threaten to halt ambulance service in Kovai

The staff are staging protest demanding deepavali bonus
Coimbatore: Around 50 staff of 108 Ambulance service staged a protest in the city demanding Deepavali bonus. Staff of the 108 Ambulance service from 12 districts took part in the agitation here. They warned of a complete halting of operations if the management failed to address their demands
They were also demanding the constitution of a grievance committee to exclusively address the problems of women employees, many of whom were posted in areas lacking adequate sanitary facilities. As many as 126 drivers and emergency technicians including 12 women were operating 25 ambulances in Coimbatore district.
