Certificates in favour of Maytas suspended
Panchayat official blamed
Hyderabad: Justice M.S. Ramchandra Rao of Hyderabad High Court on Wednesday suspended the occupancy certificates issued in favour of Maytas Home County prime apartments, Bachupally, in Ranga Reddy district, by the district panchayat officer.
The judge was dealing with a petition by Srinivas and others stating that the district panchyat officer was not authorised to issue the certificate to mislead the buyers.
They said that the Hyderabad Metropoli-tan Development Auth-ority is the competent authority to issue occupancy certificate after it is satisfied with the construction made in accordance with the plan sanctioned by it.
HC: Can’t stay judge’s order
A division bench comprising Chief Justice Kalyan Jyoti Sengupta and Justice P.V. Sanjay Kumar of the Hyderabad High Court on Wednesday refused to stay an order of a single judge, who directed the APSRTC authority not to insist its drivers to perform the dual job of drivers and conductors with TIMS (Ticket Iss-ue Machine Services) machine.
The bench was dealing with a writ appeal by the APSRTC challenging the judgment of the single judge.
A single judge earlier ruled that the drivers and conductors have separate duties and responsibilities as per the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 and the Act makes it clear that no person shall act as a conductor unless he holds a requi-red licence under Sect-ion 29 (1) of the Act.
While refusing to grant stay, the bench adjourned the case for final hearing by four weeks.
