In many areas, damaged distribution pipes are yet to be restored
Visakhapatnam: Water in Vizag has also become a scarce commodity. While some water tankers arrived from districts like Kakin-ada, Guntur and Rajahmundry, these were insufficient.
Vizag needs 41mgd daily for drinking purposes and the civic body is facing distribution problems. In many areas, damaged distribution pipes are yet to be restored.
While GVMC additional commissioner (general), Mr G.V.S. Murthy, said they were able to supply water to 80 per cent of the areas, it seemed far from the truth.
