Voting for assembly elections in Haryana and Maharashtra begins
Devendra Fadnavis has emerged as frontrunner for CM in Maharashtra
New Delhi: With Mahrashtra and Haryana going to the polls on Wednesday, the BJP is now looking at possible chief ministerial candidates if the party comes to power on its own in these two states.
While Devendra Fadnavis has emerged as the frontrunner in Maharashtra, Captain Abhimanyu leads the race for CM in Haryana. All eyes are on the Assembly polls’ outcome as this is the first major test for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s popularity after the Lok Sabha polls.
It was Mr Modi who is understood to have given the final nod to the move to go it alone in both these states. Polling will begin at 7 am and end at 6 pm on Wednesday, while the counting of votes will be on Sunday, October 19.
