Kids’ passports to be delinked from parents
Passport applications of minors will be treated as individual applications
Hyderabad: From now, passport applications of minors will be treated as individual applications, and it will not be mandatory for both parents to have a passport while applying for a child’s passport.
The passport of two-month-old Anaika, daughter of Yasmin Kalluri and Saleem Pasha, residents of Toli Chowki, was printed and dispatched within a few hours. The couple had applied under the Tatkaal scheme at the Toli Chowki PSK at 10.30 am.
The passport was printed at 12.18 pm was dispatched by 2.28 pm the same day. “We are shifting to the United States, as I want to pursue my MS in pharmacy there. I had applied for the passport four months ago, but I think this is the first time a passport was processed so quickly,” said Ms Yasmin.
Ashwini Sattaru, RPO, Hyderabad said, “This shows that when all documents are in place, there is no delay. I request people not to go through agents. Approach us directly and we will ease the process.”
