The civil services preliminary examination consisted of two papers of 200 marks each

Mumbai: The results of the civil services preliminary examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) have been announced. The results were declared early on Tuesday on the website upsc.gov.in.

The civil services preliminary examination consisted of two papers of 200 marks each. Objective-type multiple-choice questions were a part of the paper, which were to be completed in two hours each i.e. Paper I: General Studies, Paper II: General Aptitude. Negative marking was applicable in the exam.

“Candidates are also informed that marks, cut off marks and answer keys of civil services (preliminary) examination 2014 will be provided only after the entire process of the civil services examination, 2014, is over i.e. after the declaration of final result," the UPSC said in a statement.

“Therefore, no application under RTI Act, 2005 or otherwise will be entertained in this regard,” it added.

"The successful candidates have been asked to fill in Detailed Application Form (DAF) for Civil Services Main (CSM) examination scheduled to be held from December 14 this year," it said.

As many as 4,51,602 candidates had taken the civil services preliminary examination on August 24.
