Telugu Desam takes a jibe at K.Chandrasekhar Rao
LUXETTIPET (ADILABAD): Telangana Telugu Desam (T-TD) leaders, on Sunday, alleged that Chief Minister K.Chandrasekhar Rao had kept the proposed electricity line to Telangana from Chhattisgarh in cold storage as his relatives did not get the contract works of the power supply line. The leaders wondered why the chief minister was not talking about purchasing power from Chhattisgarh, unlike in the past.
Speaking to mediapersons after the party’s Rythu Bharosa yatra entered the district, T-TD district president L. Ramana charged the chief minister with trying to weaken the TD just as prime minister Indira Gandhi did when late N.T. Rama Rao was the chief minister. Later, former chief minister late Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy to did the same in the name of ‘Operation Akarsh’, he reminded.
“Now, Mr Rao is trying to attract TD leaders into his party but he will not succeed. TD had withstood all such tricks and grew stronger for the last 32 years,” he asserted.
Mr Ramana criticised the TRS government for failing to protect the interests of the farmers. “He had not made any efforts to raise the MSP of cotton, maize, jowar, ssoya though farmers had incurred huge loss due to drought conditions,” he pointed out.
They lamented that farmers’ suicides were going on unabated in the state.
Mr Chandrasekhar Rao organised Bathukamma in a big way spending a large amount of money only to highlight his daughter Kalvakuntla Kavitha. Moreover, he is announcing gifts to people whom he likes, Mr Ramana said.
The TD leaders staged a dharna in Utnoor in protest against the state government’s failure in protecting the interests of the farmers.
TD deputy floor leader Revanth Reddy, T-TDP Forum convenor Errabelli Dayakar Rao, MP Malla Reddy, former MLA Mothkupalli Narsimhulu, senior leaders participated in the yatra in Adilabad district.
