Tharoor defended his action not to reveal the details of the wealth devolved on him

Kochi: Congress leader Shashi Tharoor has submitted before Kerala High Court that he has not inherited any assets from Sunanda Pushkar after her death.
Tharoor made the submissions in an affidavit filed in response to a batch of election petitions challenging the election victory of Mr Tharoor from the Thiruvananthapural Lok Sabha constituency. According to Tharoor's counsel T Madhu, Sunanda Pushkar was a Canadian citizen and as per Canadian law the wealth of a lady cannot be inherited by her husband.
Mr Tharoor defended his action not to reveal the details of the wealth devolved on him following the death of his wife Sunanda Pushkar. Shashi Tharoor in a statement submitted before the court that Sunanda Pushkar was a Canadian Citizen so there was no need to file any statement in this regard.
The court on Friday has posted the case for pre-trial hearing on October 27.
