Police still search for clash suspects

Three students were injured in the clash
Kochi: Cops could arrest none of the 25 suspects even after two days after the rival students factions clashed with each other at the Maharaja’s College premises.
Cops’ failure came even as the college principal Francy T V suspended all the students who were figured in the list of suspects prepared by the police after a meet with district Collector MG Rajamanickam on Friday night. “The Collector agreed to preside over talks between district-level representatives of all political parties, students’ unions, and the college management. The talks are aimed at bringing various stakeholders together and discussing a code of conduct for behaviour in the campus,” Francy said.
He said the meet would be convened at a time decided upon by the collector and the parties involved.
“All the suspects are absconding and are out of the city. We’ve got information that some of them will be surrendering in the court soon. Attempts are on to trace them,” said police.
Three students were injured in clashes between the Kerala Students Union and the Students Federation of India on Thursday at the college campus.
