Officials put on high alert: Cyclone Hudhud

Ongole: The district administration was put on high alert to face the Hudhud cyclone threat and special officers were being appointed for 11 cyclone prone mandals in the district as a precautionary measure to tackle the cyclone threat.
Danger signal No. 3, was hoisted at Vadarevu in Prakasam district on Saturday evening. The special officers have left to their respective mandals to take steps to avo-id human loss and property loss due to cyclone threat.
The officials have stocked the essential commodities to supply food to the needy. They are in touch with the concerned revenue divisional officers.
District collector G.S.R. K.R. Vijayakumar directed the special officers to stay in the mandal headquarters and be ready to tackle the situation. The district administration directed the fishermen not to venture into the sea and directed the officials to identify the families residing in low-lying areas and shift them to safer places and arrange meals.
