12,500 acre allotted for Visakhapatnam and Chennai corridor
Ongole: Minister for transport Siddha Raghava Rao on Saturday said the district will allot 12,500 acre near Valivetivaripalem for Vizag-Chennai indu-strial corridor which passes through district.
Participating in “Janmabhoomi-Maa Vooru” meeting held in Kanigiri, he said that the proposed industrial corridor will attract thousands of crores of investments and added the government has a proposal to export products produced in the industrial corridor through Ramayapatnam port.
The minister said that the APSRTC will ply two hi-tech bus services from Kanigiri. One would be plied from Kanigiri to Hyderabad, another bus from Kanigiri to Bengaluru very soon.
He said that the government has a proposal to widen the existing road to a four lane road from Macherla via Kanigiri to Srikalahasti for the smooth flow of traffic for which tenders would be called very soon.
When MLA Kadiri Babu requested the minister to set up solar power units in Kanigiri where day’s temperature is high, he assured that he would take necessary steps to set up solar power units and directed the district administration to send proposals to the government.
He reiterated that the government will pay 20 per cent of crop loan dues on behalf of farmers to the banks on October 22 and waive the crop loans to keep up its promise.
Similarly, loans given to the SHGs would be waived and 25 per cent of the sand reaches would be handed over to them very soon. They will get 25 per cent incentive on sand sales.
