One hurt in bomb blast at Hayathnagar

The reason for carrying the crude bomb is yet to be ascertained

Hyderabad: One person was injured in a crude bomb blast at Umarkh-anguda in Hayath-nagar on Saturday. The incident occurred when the victim who was riding a bike hit a pedestrian who was carrying the bomb in a cover.

Hayathnagar police said Vinod Naik, 35, a labourer and resident of Anajpur was coming on his two-wheeler towards Umarkhanguda in the afternoon. When he reached Umarkhanguda near Sanghi Temple, Sambaiah, 65, a labourer who was carrying the explosive in a small bag was walking ahead.

“Vinod who was speeding failed to see him and hit him. The bag fell on the ground and the crude bomb in it exploded. Vinod sustained minor injuries,” said inspector P. Venkateshwarlu Hayathnagar police.

Sources said apart from the bomb the bag contained some pork too. The reason for carrying the crude bomb is yet to be ascertained.

Passersby who saw this rushed to his rescue and shifted him to hospital. His condition is stable.

A case under the Explosive Substances Act was registered. Sources said though the culprit was traced cops have not yet confirmed it.
