Director booked for cheating actor
Hyderabad: The Banjara Hills police booked a case against a Tollywood director for cheating an actor by promising him the main role in his film. The accused Vamshi Krishna had allegedly taken Rs 35 lakh from an actor for the role. However, he later did not give back the money. The actor, Aravind, lodged a complaint on Friday. Police said they had booked a case against the director for cheating and criminal breach of trust. The director had issued a statement stating that he is producing a film under the V-Dream Entertainment banner.
The actor, Aravind, had approached him and requested him to give him the role of the lead character in the film. Vamshi asked him to pay for the role of the hero. However, the project did not take off, and Aravind demanded his money back. The director refused to pay and also threatened Aravind, the complaint said.
