Mumbai: Sumona Chakravarti shot to fame as Bittu’s (Kapil Sharma) wife on Comedy Nights with Kapil that continues to rake in high TRPs. But the actress surprised her fans with her latest avatar that was seen on the show Yeh Hai Aashiqui where she played a rockstar. She says that she likes to keep experimenting with her roles. We get to know more about the off-screen side of Sumona.
What kind of music do you like to listen to?
I personally love house music and EDM. But again my taste for music changes with mood and time. There are also times when I like to listen to Kishore Kumar songs and Jagjit Singh’s ghazals.
Have you ever fallen in love with someone who is completely your opposite?
People say opposites attract. The episode of Yeh Hai Aashiqui that I worked on was a beautiful love story of a modern girl and boy who has a conservative approach towards life. But for better or for worse, in reality I haven’t faced a similar situation.
What qualities do you look for in your ideal guy?
Compatibility is most important. I believe that’s what makes couples stay together. Looks do matter, but honestly it plays more of a temporary role in liking a person.
What do you think makes Manju (in Comedy Nights With Kapil) popular?
Honestly, I have no idea. It has been almost a year and a half, and the love and appreciation that we get from our viewers has doubled each day, which is really amazing. The response from our fans in Dubai was overwhelming.
What kind of role are you looking for in your next?
It is very easy for the viewers to stereotype actors with respect to their past works. But that’s something I don’t want.
