It’s stupid to be on Twitter: Saif Ali Khan

Saif Ali Khan talks about his take on the social networking site

After the debacle of Humshakals, Saif Ali Khan is looking forward to his next film, Happy Ending, which has been produced under his own banner.

Talking about the rom-com, Saif says, “We have tried to make it different. It’s about a writer who has to make a Bollywood romantic comedy and doesn’t know how to do that.

“Yes it’s a genre that I am happy with and it was great working with directors Raj and D.K. This is subtle and slightly international way of acting, which is challenging. It a good thing if it works for us all. It’s actually a romantic Bollywood spoof, we are making fun of romantic comedy.”

His wife, Kareena Kapoor, and Preity Zinta, have special appearances in the film. Talking about Kareena’s appearance, Saif says, “I will not be seen with Kareena much in the film. She will be seen in only one particular scene.”

He adds, “Kareena is open minded and a great support for my career... Also, I would not like to discuss my relationship with Kareena in public.”

Coming back to the film, we ask him about his double role. “Well! The character is modeled on Pritam the music director, with long hair etc. ”

And the actor hopes that Happy Ending will certainly end with a happy note for him. “It would be really nice if your film is a success. Box office collections are important and we would like to make lots of money. For an actor, you should be true to the value systems. We want to make our distributors happy,” he says.

Recently, some people on Twitter called for the boycott of Haider for its alleged separationist views. Talking about the controversy, he says, “Some people make crazy movies. But yet it’s a liberal opinion. I do not feel there is any need to boycott any film after getting the censor certificate.”

Saif, who is not on Twitter, adds, “I feel it’s (Twitter) a tremendous platform to spread news and has many advantages. I also feel that when you have so many followers you cannot keep them happy by always saying cool things. It’s better to keep a dignified silence. For me, it feels stupid to be on Twitter. Also, my mom says you can’t have more than five friends.”
