BJP taking credit for Congress' achievements, says Sonia Gandhi
Brahmapuri, Maharashtra: Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Saturday lashed out at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for taking credit of the UPA regime's achievements.
"They are taking credit for our achievements. 'Sabka Saath Sabka Vikaas' has always been Congress' motto," said Gandhi while addressing a rally in Brahmapuri city of Maharashtra's Chandrapur district.
She further took the BJP to task for coming up with new slogans everyday rather than focusing on the nation's development.
"You must remember the promises made by BJP before the Lok Sabha elections. What happened to the slogan of controlling inflation? What happened to the slogan of bringing back black money? They are coming up with new slogans every day, but the nation does not progress by just making slogans," she added.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who has been campaigning aggressively in Maharashtra for the upcoming polls, has been critical of the Congress party and urging the voters to end dynastic elements and vote for the BJP which symbolizes development.
Maharashtra will go to polls on October 15. The counting of votes will take place on October 19.
