After backtracking, MLA Dharma Reddy joins TRS

Dharma Reddy met KCR and left immediately for Warangal
Hyderabad: The Opposition Telangana Telugu Desam received another jolt on Friday, the day its leaders launched a bus yatra in Telangana districts, with party Parkal MLA Challa Dharma Reddy defecting to the TRS.
On Thursday, Mr Dharma Reddy met Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao here and left immediately for Warangal. However, the TD leaders publicly announced that they are in touch with Mr Dharma Reddy and under no circumstances will he quit the party.
They also said Mr Dharma Reddy had left for Warangal to oversee the arrangements for the bus yatra in the district on Saturday. But much to their dismay, Mr Dharma Reddy had a meeting of his workers and well wishers in Hanumakonda on Friday where he announced joining the TRS in the interests of Telangana development.
Mr Dharma Reddy is the third MLA from Telugu Desam joining the TRS after Teegala Krishna Reddy and Talasani Srinivasa Yadav.
Meanwhile, the Telangana TD leaders who kick started the bus yatra to find out the farmers problems in the region, have visited few villages like Koyyalagudem in Chowtuppal mandal, Veliminedu in Chityal mandal, Kondapa kanigudem in Narkatpally mandal of Nalgonda district on Friday afternoon.
Later in the evening, they staged a protest dharna at Suryapet old bus stand. The TD team, led by Telangana TD president L. Ramana, met farmers in the villages, who complained to them that power supply has been erratic for the last few months resulting in drying up of standing crops.
Addressing wayside media conferences at a few places in the district the TD MLAs accused the Chief Minister of not fulfilling the promise of eight hour power supply to the agriculture sector.
They have also said instead of taking steps to resolve the power crisis, Mr Rao resorted to accuse Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu which they said was not right.
