SP questions SC rulings, ‘political activism’ of governors

Some rulings in recent past have paved the way for an anarchy-like situation, says SP
Lucknow: The political resolution passed at the national convention of the Samajwadi Party on Thursday questioned the recent role of Supreme Court and the growing “political activism” by some governors.
The resolution said, “We believe the role of the SC should be discussed only in abnormal situations but some of the rulings of the top court in the recent past have paved the way for an anarchy-like situation in the country.” The resolution pointed towards a recent ruling which said that no arrests should be made in crime that attract less than seven years of imprisonment.
