Hyderabad: Justice Nooty Ramamohana Rao of the High Court in Hyderabad on Thursday has suggested to the Telangana state government to evolve a policy to ensure that the civic bodies will not alienate their valuable properties, in favour of their employees, without securing clearance from the government.
The judge said any alienation of land belonging to the civic body must be routed through the government in public interest only; otherwise, the civic bodies would go on acquiring immovable properties and make huge investments for their improvement and would be giving them away for a pittance as consideration towards their employees.
The judge was disposing a batch of writ petitions where certain individuals of Warangal questioned the eviction from their houses by the authorities. The petitioners told the court that the authorities had not followed proper procedure in evicting them from their houses. HC seeks info on poll violence
Justice Vilas V. Afzulpurkar directed the State Election Commission to inform the court about the actions it has initiated with regard to the allegations of violence during polls to the post of chairperson, MPP, in Chityal, Nalgonda district.
The judge was hearing a petition by Sujatha and other members of MPTC of Chityal mandal. Students told to approach state Justice Nooty Ramamohana Rao refused to entertain a batch of writs challenging inaction of the state government in sanctioning pre-matric scholarship for a batch of students at the prestigious Hyderabad Public School in the city. The judge suggested the petitioners first represent the government about their grievances instead of straightaway approaching the court.
Vigil sought on spiritual leaders T. Dhangopal Rao, human rights activist, has moved the Hyderabad High Court seeking action against persons indulging in faith healing and making false propaganda by in public places. He urged the court to direct the AP and TS governments and the Centre to maintain a vigil against a Chennai-based spiritual healing organisation ‘Jesus Calls', represented by spiritual healer Paul Dhinakaran.
He alleged that the said organisation was giving false assurances to gullible people of both states of curing all ailments by prayer.
