Jagdish Mittal’s vision comes to life
A three-day celebration on the veteran art collector begins
Hyderabad: As he enters his 90th year, artist and art collector Jagdish Mittal is being honoured with a festival by Shristi Art Gallery. While the curator, Lakshmi Nambiar, has painstaking, followed a wish list of Mittal to make the festival “more than just a tribute” to him, biggies like Laxma Goud and Shankar Melkote will be speaking on Mittal’s contribution to their own personal artist pursuits.
Mittal, who moved to the city in the 50s, has since then been a huge support for several artists in the city. He even became a window to the world of national and international art during the days when exposure was limited in the region.
As part of the three-day celebrations, art of all the masters as well as the contemporaries will also go on display for the public at Salar Jung museum.
