Notices issued to five DCC leaders
The leaders are strong supporters of MP Renuka Chowdary
Khammam: The show cause notices issued by the PCC disciplinary committee to five DCC leaders, on Wednesday, in connection with their derogatory statements against AICC vice-president Rahul Gandhi, a year ago, created flutter in the party circles. These five leaders are staunch followers of MP Renuka Chowdary and disciplinary committee chairman K. Kodanda Reddy issued notices to them.
DCC general secretary Dirisala Bhadraiah, Khammam town women’s Congress president Kollu Padma, DCC co-ordination committee member P. Murali, DCC spokesperson V.V. Appa Rao and Wyra Assembly constituency in-charge Suraram Rama Rao, in a press conference held a year ago, took exception to AICC secretary P. Sudhakar Reddy’s statement that their leader P. Renuka Chowdary is a non-local to the district.
Mr Sudhakar Reddy belongs to Ms. Renuka’s rival group and said that she had no role in the party affairs in Khammam district. Further, Renuka’s followers questioned Mr Sudhakar Reddy, who had been inviting AICC vice-president Rahul Gandhi to contest from Khammam Parliamentary constituency, if he would ask Mr Gandhi for his birth certificate to prove his credentials as a local. Mr Kondanda Reddy said notices were issued on the advice of AICC leader Digvijay Singh.
