Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy requested to establish a Passport Seva Kendra at Nellore
Nellore: Union Minister of External Affairs Sushma Swaraj has been requested to establish a Passport Seva Kendra at Nellore. In a representation add-ressed to the minister on We-dneday, Nellore MP Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy requested the minister to consider the proposal since people of Nellore district have to go all the way to Tirupati or Vijayawada for passport services.
Pointing to increasing number of applicants for passports especially from student community from Nellore region, he underlined the need to setup a Passport Seva Kendra in Nellore City. He added that it will also help people living in neighbouring Kadapa and Prak-asam districts.
In another representation addressed to General Manager of South Central Railway, the MP stressed the need to reschedule the departure time of Simhapuri Exp-ress from Nellore to Secun-derabad at 9.15 am and from the other end (Secunderabad) at 9.30 pm in view of difficulties being faced by commuters after recent change in the timings of the train.
The MP has narrated the difficulties being faced by commuters after the departure time from Nellore was changed to 10.40 pm from 9.30 pm in the past. Referring to the train leaving Secunderabad at 10.55 PM now, he said that the timing is also most inconvenient for the passengers. He asked the GM to consider the request while pointing to scores of representations he received from passengers.
