ISI faked video of Al Qaeda threatening attack on India
Guwahati: The scientific and technical analysis of the al-Qaeda video threatening to step up their activities and strengthening network in Indian states revealed that it was concocted and engineered.
Informing that the video is suspected to be the handiwork of Pakistan’s Inter Services Intelligence, security sources in the home ministry told this newspaper that Indian intelligence agencies have reached to a conclusion that the video was the part of a conspiracy of ISI aimed at to attribute its own subversive activities to al-Qaeda.
Pointing out that voice in the video was not of al-Qaeda’s top commander Ayman al-Zawahari, security sources said that ISI has been trying hard to rope in some of the Muslim organisations to create unrest in the Indian states referred in the video.
However, some of the ISI plans were foiled by the Indian security agencies before they could do any damage.
Pointing out that ISI-backed terror network of radical groups were also instrumental in formation of “Rohongiya Solidarity Group”, security sources said that Lashkar-e-Tayybba and its associates operating under different names have set up training camps in Cox Bazar area of Chittagong in Bangladesh and is providing arms and training to Rohingiyas of Myanmar.
Clarifying that Indian security agencies have not ruled out the possibility of al-Qaeda spreading its wings in South East Asia, sources claimed that security agencies are vigilant.
The video claiming to be of al-Zawahiri had surfaced in the first week of September this year.
