Bid to divert legal issue into inter-state row: Vijayakanth
He alleged a karnataka vehicle was attacked on a pilgrimage
Chennai: DMDK chief Vijayakanth on Wednesday alleged that efforts were being made by the ruling AIADMK to divert a legal matter, the Bengaluru court sentencing Jayalalithaa to four years in jail into a Tamil versus Kannadiga issue.
Mr Vijayakanth said that a vehicle of the family from Karnataka, who came on a pilgrimage to Palani temple was attacked on Tuesday evening and stones were pelted at Karnataka registered buses at several places. “Strong action must be taken against those who are indulging in such activities,” he said in a statement.
The actor-turned politician asked CM Panneerselvam to focus on maintaining law and order in the state rather than blaming opposition parties. “The CM should take steps to allay fears of the people by maintaining law and order,” he said.
