CM appealed to people to give donations for new capital
Guntur: AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has appealed to the people of the state to give donations and to participate in Shramadan for the construction of the new capital in Guntur district. He had visited Vinukonda on Wednesday to participate in the “Swachch AP”, “Badi Pilusotondi”, “NTR Sujala” and “Janmabhoomi-Mavuru programmes.
Addressing the public during the concluding programme at the zilla parishad high school at Savalyapuram, Mr Naidu said that he is keen on building a new capital for the convenience of the people of 13 districts. Mentioning the poor financial condition of AP, he appealed to everyone to at least donate a brick for the new capital and to participate in capital construction through the Shramadan programme. He announced that the government is drafting a detailed plan for the construction in Guntur district and it would be announced soon.
Mr Naidu claimed that he had fulfilled the Telugu Desam’s poll promises like agriculture and DWCRA loan waiver schemes, increase of social security pension amount in 120 days and providing 24x7 power to resolve the power crisis. He said that mere physical efforts would not yield good income in the present hi-tech world, and he asked women and farmers to use innovative methods to grow economically.
Speaking about his technology mission, he asked the DWCRA women to adopt online marketing to display their products across the globe and assured them of the state’s co-operation. Refuting the allegations of Opposition parties about the crop loan waiver, he admitted that he knew the loan waiver would not be easy, but said he had worked to fulfill it despite opposition from the Union government, bankers and the Reserve Bank of India. He also announced that farmers’ loans would be waived from October 22.
Referring to his mission for eradicate of poverty from the society “paydarikam pyporatam” announced that farmers and poor people
are his two eyes and sought co-operation from all sections of the society for the development of AP state.
