Dikkulu Choodaku Ramayya turning point of my career: Ajay
Hyderabad: Ajay is all excited about the release of his film, Dikkulu Choodaku Ramayya (DCR), on Friday. The actor is well-known for negative roles in films like Vikramarkudu, Brindavanam, Lakshmi Kalyanam and Ishq. He has also acted as the lead in a few films too.
Ajay begins, “My character in DCR is completely different from any character that I have done till date.” He says that he is playing a young father in the film.
“Both father and son fall in love with the same girl. For the first time I am playing the role of a father. Having played so many negative roles, I was keen to play a feel-good role. When director Trikoti approached me, I did not hesitate in the least and immediately accepted the role,” says Ajay.
In the film, he gets married at a young age. When asked whether the Telugu audience would be open towards such an unconventional subject, Ajay said, “There is no vulgarity nor any double meaning dialogues in this film.
It’s a complete family entertainer. Full credit goes to the director because he has treated the subject in a superb way,” says Ajay. This is director Trikoti’s first film. “He has worked with Rajamouli earlier and I knew him when he worked for Vikramarkudu. I am confident of his talent,” he says.
“This film is very important for me. I tried a different character. The audience must also be bored with my regular villain characters, this will be like a breath of fresh air and I wanted to reach family audiences with it,” he says, adding that the film would be a turning point of his career.
Meanwhile, Ajay is also busy with a handful of other films and will be seen in Joru, Rudramadevi, Harish Shankar’s film and two more Tamil films.
