CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan woos small and medium enterprises to Madhya Pradesh

The government would not allow financial constraints to come in the way of entrepreneurial spirits

INDORE: In a bid to attract big ticket investments, the government of Madhya Pradesh on Wednesday announced various sops and incentives for the business community with special focus on MSMEs.

Kick-starting the fourth edition of the Global Investment Summit organised by the state government, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that his government would create a separate ministry for the MSME sector and a Rs 100 crore venture capital fund to provide financial assistance to entrepreneurs coming out with innovative ideas.

Addressing a packed hall at Brilliant Convention Centre, Indore, the CM said that his government would not allow financial constraints to come in the way of entrepreneurial spirits.

Meanwhile Modi plan has SMEs worried

Concerned about whether the ‘Make in India’ campaign launched by the government would harm the domestic micro, small and medium enterprises, the SME Chamber of India has requested the Prime Ministers Office to issue directions to the state governments and financial institutions to give special considerations to the domestic industry.

It has requested the PMO to roll out a new concept called ‘Prime Minister SME Mitra Yojana’ to change the mindset of lenders and officials towards the cash starved MSMEs in India.
