The action will be taken safeguard future of workers
Chennai: Nokia employees’ union plans to move the state government to safeguard the future of the 851 workers who are clueless about their job prospects Nokia India announced on Tuesday that it was suspending operations of the Sriperumpudur plant from November 1, following the termination of its services agreement with Microsoft.
CITU state unit secretary and CPM MLA A. Soundararajan declared the management notice as illegal and announced that he would move the TN government, which has leased out the land to the company. The union is preparing a detailed memorandum, explaining the circumstan-ces, to be presented to the Tamil Nadu government.
