‘Response good to Janmabhoomi’

Rajappa instructed the officials to redress the grievances immediately without any delay

Kakinada: Deputy chief minister and home minister Nimmakayala Chinna Rajappa said that there was a huge response to Janmabhoomi and Maa Vooru programmes in the state and a large number of people were attending the programmes and getting benefits of government schemes.

He told the reporters at Pavara village in Samalkot mandal on Tuesday that the people were responding positively to the programmes and were availing of pensions which were enhanced five times.

The home minister said that the officials were also receiving grievances from the people in these two programmes.

He instructed the officials to redress the grievances immediately without any delay.

He said that many of the donors, industrialists, philanthropists and NGOs were coming forward to supply mineral water to the people at Rs 2 per 20 litres under NTR Sujala Sravanti scheme.

Earlier, he participated in grama sabhas, Janmabhoomi Maa Vooru programmes in Pavara village along with the district collector, Neethu Prasad.

Mr Rajappa said that proposals have been kept ready for taking up developing activities at a cost of Rs 1.80 crores under SC Sub-Plan funds at Pavara village.

He said that the ponds in the village would be developed under NREGS and the high school and burial grounds would be levelled.

Four additional classrooms would be constructed for ZP High School in the village, he said.

District collector Neethu Prasad called upon the people to come forward for construction of individual sanitary latrines in the village and keep the surroundings clean for creating a healthy environment in the villages.
