Kochi: Veekshanam, the mouth piece of Congress in Kerala, has lashed out against Shashi Tharoor MP and spokesman of Congress for his tweets supporting the cleaning mission launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In a hard-hitting editorial on Tuesday the paper said that “even golden tree deserved to be cut if it poses a threat to the house”. Although paper has not mentioned Tharoor by name it provided enough hints by using adjectives such as ‘foreign policy expert’.
“Instead of opening the backdoor for the entry of paramour it would be better to elope with the paramour thorough the front door”, the editorial penned by editor AC Jose said. The editorial ridiculed those writing ‘tweeting love verses for Modi and praising him in OP ED columns”. The editorial wondered that “how many days these kind of holy cows incapable of tolerating defeat even in one election would remain in congress”.
Equating such persons with Siberian Crane, a familiar migratory bird in Kerala, it said that these people “masquerading themselves as the final word in scholarship are trying for getting a placement of the campus recruitment by BJP while remaining in Congress”. “It is a total betrayal of faith”, it said and added that such persons are also betraying thousands of Congress workers who have worked tirelessly for ensuring the electoral success of them.
The foreign policy expert writing a six-column article praising the US visit of Modi has even failed to mention the attack against well known journalist Rajdeep Sardesai, the editorial lamented.
