Vijayawada: Chilakalapudi, noted for manufacturing of imitation jewellery, tops in operating tours to various religious places during Dasara holidays.
Over 100 buses will be operated from the village as largest family members used to visit one or the other religious place during Dasara holidays. Mr K. Nagu of Chilakalapudi said that a majority of the villagers who are in imitation gold jewellery work are related to each other.
The families used to visit religious places. Number of tours will be organised from Chilakalapudi Panduranga Swamy temple every year. He said the residents of Chilakalapudi are following the sentiment for the past several years and for the first time such mishap occurred at Sholapur. He said 26 members of a single family left for Shirdi tour.
Mr Chilamkurthi Sri Venkata Prasad heaved a sigh of relief when he noticed his wife, daughter, sister and brother-in-law, when the survivors reached Gannavaram airport. He feels it is a happy reunion for the family members.
