Jahnvi’s trace to help find missing children

Jahnvi has now turned mascot for a campaign to help trace missing children

New Delhi: The Delhi police has approached an international company that provides advanced satellite imagery to ascertain the details of abductors who kidnapped three-year-old Jahnvi from India Gate on September 28.

However, Jahnvi’s parents accused the police of not doing “anything” in the first few days after their three-year-old girl went missing and becoming “active” only towards the end following which she was found on Sunday.

The family, however, acknowledged the fact that the assurance given to them by the police on Saturday that the girl will be reunited with them within two days was fulfilled.

The CCTV footage of the area has so far not been of much use for the police as far as identifying the abductors.

The family also acknowledged the fact that media and their campaign on social media played a big part in Jahnvi’s safe return.

Jahnvi has now turned mascot for a campaign to help trace missing children in the country.

The campaign ‘Bring Back Angels’ spearheaded by Jatin Kakkar, who along with Chandigarh-based NGO Salaam Zindagi had led an initiative on Facebook and Whatsapp to spread the word about Jhanvi, would utilise the social media as a tool to trace children who disappear every year.

“A group was created on Whatsapp and information about Jahnvi’s disappearance was shared with around 1,500 to 2,000 contacts,” said Mr Kakkar.
