AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s office is not soundproof
His chamber is exposed to the main road, which sees hundreds of vehicles
Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandr-ababu Naidu’s new chambers at the Secretariat are bulletproof, but not soundproof thanks to an oversight by officials.
Last Friday, when Mr Naidu entered his chambers, he did not notice the sound as he spent only a little while there. However, on Monday, during a meeting with Telangana Telugu Desam MLAs, the Chief Minister became angry as bus horns and vehicle sounds kept disturbing him.
According to sources, Mr Naidu expressed his anger to officials and asked, “How can I work with the noise, how can I hold meetings?” and directed the officials to rectify the same. He asked his Telugu Desam MP C.M. Ramesh to discuss the issue with the officials.
Mr Naidu’s chambers on the 7th and 8th floors of L block at the Secretariat were renovated with the latest technology including bulletproof glass and bulletproof paint on the walls. However, the officials did not take into account that the Chief Minister’s chamber was exposed to the main road, which sees hundreds of vehicles including RTC buses passing through. The officials will now take up the job of soundproofing the Chief Minister’s chambers.
