Anti-KKNPP activists want to meet new Chief Minister

The activist want to explain the anti-people aspects of KKNPP
Tirunelveli: Pleading with the new CM O. Pannerselvam to withdraw the cases against people fighting against the Kudankulam nuclear power project (KKNPP), the People’s Movement against Nuclear Energy (PMANE) sought an appointment to meet the Chief Minister and explain the anti-people aspects of KKNPP.
A letter of the PMANE struggle committee to the CM gratefully recalled the efforts made by AIADMK general secretary Jayalalithaa in helping a delegation of anti-KKNPP activists led by O. Panneerselvam to meet the Prime Minister.
The letter also blamed the two national parties the Congress and BJP of deliberately misleading the ruling AIADMK on the people’s struggle against KKNPP. In its letter to the present CM, the activists did recalled Ms Jayalalithaa’s assurance that she would stand by the coastal community fighting against the nuclear power project in Kudankulam.
The PMANE wanted the new CM to speak out in favour of the people against the Centre’s plan of setting up two more reactors in addition to the existing first and second units.
