Hyderabad professor stabs kids in the neck over dispute with ex-wife
Hyderabad: The Malkajgiri police on Monday recovered the bodies of the two missing children of professor A.R. Guruprasad from his own plot near Kalpa Tharavu Residency in Medchal.
Police said that on Saturday Guruprasad had taken the boys to Medchal where he killed them by stabbing them with a knife on their necks. He then wrapped the bodies in a blanket and buried them in a pit dug in his own plot. During investigation, his mobile phone was checked and a draft message to his wife was found, informing about the killing.
“He had typed the message but hadn’t sent it, hence it got saved in the drafts box. In the message he informed his wife about the killing and burial and asked her to check in Medchal. We learnt the couple had a plot there,” said Malkajgiri inspector G. Shekar Goud.
Officials said that the highly decomposed bodies had head injuries and a knife was also recovered from the crime scene. “Guruprasad might have attacked them with sharp weapons or boulders. However, the cause of death can be ascertained only after a postmortem,” said Petbasheerabad ACP M. Srinivasa Rao.
Sources said that Guruprasad had dug the pit recently and when asked about that had said that it was for construction purposes. The police has changed the case to murder. The Medchal police will also help in the probe. The bodies were exhumed and shifted to the Gandhi Hospital for postmortem.
After the killings, Guruprasad parked his bike at the Secunderabad Railway Station, took a bus to James Street and committed suicide by jumping in front of the train.
