‘I want to encourage new talent’
Puri Jagannath, who wrote the story of Mr Romeo, which is releasing this week, says that he wanted to encourage new talent. “Gopi Ganesh (the director) worked with me as an assistant director. The film has shaped up well,” says Puri. He adds that he had visited Verona four years back while shooting his earlier film Nenu Naa Rakshasi. “Romeo and Juliet met here and many people, especially lovers, visit the place every year. With that inspiration I have written Mr Romeo.”
He says that the film was made with a limited budget and also with a limited crew. “I liked the way they completed the film with only 16 people. In the near future I want to do small films with limited budgets. A few days back when I met Dasari gaaru he advised me to make small films. I have, thus, decided to encourage new talent and from next year I will make small films with new talent,” adds Puri.
