Ashutosh Gowariker’s Everest troubles

Everest's team had to shoot in 6 °C temperatures

Mumbai: The crew of Ashutosh Gowariker’s Everest had to face extreme conditions and many hurdles while filming crucial scenes in the Himalayas.

“The show has been extensively shot in Lukla which is the highest airport in the world, the Everest Base Camp, Uttarkashi and the Dokriani Glacier at 12,000 feet. The team had to shoot in 6 °C temperatures. They required supplemental oxygen as the altitude increased and it became very difficult for them to shoot,” a source told us.

Ashutosh confirmed that the report was true. “The team faced a lot of difficulty owing to uncertain weather conditions and extreme temperatures coupled with low oxygen levels. The entire team was very supportive and understanding and even after facing challenges at different levels, we managed to finish shooting all the portions as planned,” he added.
