Nellore: Andhra Pradesh municipal administration minister Dr P. Narayana took the officials of Nellore municipal corporation (NMC) to task as he held a review beyond three long hours at the Nellore corporation office on Sunday.The minister who held a review meet with the officials of various departments of the Nellore municipal corporation at the conference hall in NMC on Sunday, expressed his agony in the manner in which the officials of the civic body were functioning.
Trouble began for the officials when the minister asked for the details of the property tax collected by the revenue wing in the last six months, as the officials replied they did not have the data on hand.
The minister vented ire on the deputy commissioner Mr Veera Bhadra Rao for being ignorant about such important information and chided him for not being updated with figures. Also the minister pointed out that 10 days after he was sworn in as minister for municipal administration, he had sought for information regarding illegal tap connections under the NMC limits, but the officials were so negligent.
