New Delhi: Even though the Lok Sabha Speaker has turned down the Congress’ request for the post of Leader of Opposition (LoP) in the Lower House of Parliament, the Modi government in an important move is believed to have initiated the process for selecting the chief of the country’s premier investigating agency, the CBI. The move assumes political significance as the LoP is an important member of the committee that finalises the name of the CBI director.
