Suriya’s appeal to join Modi’s ‘Clean India’ initiative
Actor has asked people to keep environment clean by joining the movement
Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently launched the ‘Swachh Bharat’, or ‘Clean India Mission’ on the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. He also invited nine people, including cricket star Sachin Tendulkar, actors Salman Khan, Priyanka Chopra and Kamal Haasan, to join him in his cleanliness mission, and asked them to further nominate another nine, and so on.
Endorsing his views, actor Suriya who does his bit for society through his trust’s initiatives in education, recently took up the new ‘My Tree Challenge’ and has appealed to his millions of fans and others to join PM Modi’s noble movement. He said, “Cleanliness is next to Godliness, said Mahatmaji. Cleanliness is health. Hygiene is the need of the hour. Keeping ourselves, our homes, our neighbourhood clean does not cost us anything. Passing on wealth to children is important, but I feel making them live in a clean environment is even more imperative. Let’s all join and support Modiji’s ‘Clean India Mission’.
