N Chandrababu Naidu provides help to ailing families
Rajahmundry: The Chief Minister received huge applause when he sanctioned old age pension to the ailing husband of an aged woman named B. Nagaratnam and also handed over enhanced pension of Rs 1,000 each to the couple.
The CM also directed the collector to sanction a house to the couple in an upcoming colony at Angara village, when she requested for one.
The CM announced a tri-cycle and an electric sewing machine worth around Rs 30,000, on total subsidy to a disabled woman D. Kanaka Vara Lakshmi, when her father brought her to the stage holding her hands to receive the enhanced pension of Rs 1,500 from the CM.
Mr Chandrababu Naidu said that he was moved by the plight of thousands of families living in penury during his Padayatra taken up in the state earlier and vowed to eliminate poverty in the state.
Earlier, the Chief Minister instructed the officials to strictly comply with the protocol in conducting Janmabhoomi-Ma Vooru programme and insisted that the meeting should be chaired by the village sarpanch and conducted by the concerned nodal officer and advised not to convert it into a political meeting.
