Nikhil has his hopes high

I gave my heart and soul to this project says Nikhil

Hyderabad: All set for a Diwali release, Nikhil Siddharth’s Karthikeya will hit the screens on October 24. Having debuted in Tollywood with the hit film Happy Days, and then delivering a hit like Swami Ra Ra, it was not an easy task for Nikhil to choose the script of Karthikeya. “I wanted to do a good film again and not make things worse by choosing the wrong script. After Swami Ra Ra, I went through almost 40 scripts and only then did I zero down on Karthikeya,” Nikhil says, adding, “The film is a comedy thriller. The story is on the lines of Chandramukhi. I am sure that the movie will scare you and also make you laugh.”

Explaining his role in the film, Nikhil says, “I play the role of a medical student. For the role, I had to do a lot of homework. I needed to learn how junior doctors interact with patients, how a stethoscope is used and how an injection is given. My character Karthik is a curious guy. He is always trying to find reasons behind things that happen around him. The characterisation is almost similar to that of Sherlock Holmes.”

The hit pair — Nikhil and Swathi Reddy — will once again be sharing screen space after Swami Ra Ra. Talking about his onscreen chemistry with his co-star, Nikhil says, “Swathi and I share a good chemistry. The audience enjoyed watching us in our earlier film and the producer wanted us back in Karthikeya since we are great together.”

“She is an amazing person to work with. With Karthikeya, I am debuting in Kollywood and Mollywood. Swathi has a presence in other southern language films too,” he adds.

With just a few weeks left for the release, he says, “I gave my heart and soul to this project and spent nine months on it. Now I have my fingers crossed.”
