Ministry of Home Affairs seeks J&K flood loss report

The valley is still limping back to normalcy
New Delhi: The Union home ministry on Tuesday nudged the Jammu and Kashmir government to submit a memorandum, entailing the damages during the floods, at the earliest so that the process of rehabilitation can kick off properly.
The reminder to J&K has gone after several oral reminders to the state administration to assess the losses and damages in order to provide immediate relief to people and begin the exhaustive rebuilding exercise. The MHA is prodding the government, which is still limping back to normalcy, to take up the reins and not delay the exercise of carrying out an assessment to calculate the losses.
